2024 Spring Breakers: Get Ready!

Newport Beach is home to luxury, relaxation, and stunning views of the coast. But did you know it’ll make the perfect spring break trip if you’re not looking to go too far away? Whether you’re escaping the horrors of college classes or just looking to decompress for a week, we have you covered. There’s tons to do, and it doesn’t stop at cruising the harbor on an Electric Boat Rental. Here’s what our staff recommends for you as the best spring break spots in Newport Beach!

Activities to do during spring break 2024 in Newport Beach

→ Rent beach cruisers, surrey bikes, and electric scooters from Newport Beach Bike Rentals

Located at 309 Palm Street Suite #309 right on the peninsula, this family-owned business has been operating since 2019. For low hourly and daily rates, you and your friends can rent two-person electric scooters and trikes, and even surrey bikes with covering over the top. Exploring Newport Beach has never been easier, there’s bike lanes everywhere!

→ Walk, shop, and sip in Lido Marina Village

Lido Marina Village, where Electric Boat Rentals is located, has some of the best shopping and food you can find in Newport Beach. Start off with brunch at the famous Malibu Farm (check out their store!), then make your way over to shops like Faherty and Alchemy Works for curated goods to add to your home and wardrobe. Be sure to check out Le Labo and Aesop, too! There’s so many unique restaurants and stores to check out, you can’t go wrong.

→ Dock and dine with us!

Of course we had to suggest an electric boat ride - it’s a staple! We still have availability all through March and April and will be extending our hours after the time change on March 12th. Book a 3-hour sunset cruise with us to dock and dine at any of the waterfront restaurants in the Newport Beach Harbor. We strongly recommend the happy hour at the Cannery from 3:30 to 6:30pm, offering 50% off tons of menu items and $2 off drinks! Just a few minutes away from our dock, the start of your night out begins.

→ Picnic at John Wayne Park

Located at 2405 Cliff Drive, this little park sits on a hill overlooking Newport Harbor. Grab a blanket from Faherty and order a charcuterie board from the Picnic Grazing Company (https://www.picnicgrazingco.com/) or Honey and Hive Boards (https://www.honeyandhiveboards.com/)! You’ll be able to watch sail boats, hang out, and enjoy the sun with a snack that tastes just as good as it looks.

Where to eat during spring break 2024 in Newport Beach

In the mood for sushi? This family-owned spot on the docks can be seen from our boats, and has some of the best local sashimi in town. Stop in for a casual environment, amazing handrolls, and even better service. The Beagle Roll and Yoshi Springroll is a must-order!

If you’ve ever doubted how good vegan food can be, this is the spot for you. The menu is stacked with Mexican bites; we recommend going for a taco flight and the guacamole. The cocktail list goes on forever too - they take tequila seriously! Try a craft margarita and choose any of the unique tequilas they offer. The ambiance of this restaurant is amazing.

Located right on the water and visible from our dock, Rusty Pelican delivers an upscale surf and turf with delicious cocktails. The Shrimp and Scallop Penne A La Vodka is a hit, and you can never go wrong ordering a steak at this spot. The service is also unmatched!

Taco Tuesday has never been better. If you’re craving authentic, homestyle Mexican food and what’s been called “the best margarita in California” by Yelp reviewers, look no further! The service is amazing, and the drinks are even better. The Tamarindo Margarita never misses, and their ceviche is to die for.

The epitome of fine dining; we had to include Nobu! Located directly behind our dock, you’ll find one of the most famous restaurants in Southern California. You’ll be able to sit waterside while enjoying traditional Japanese cuisine with some of the highest quality fish you’ll find on the market. You have to try the crispy rice with spicy tuna!

Nightlife during spring break 2024 in Newport Beach

→ Mutt Lynch's

Voted the #1 dive bar in Orange County since 1976, you can’t miss this place. It’s located right on the beach, serves up entire goblets of almost anything you’d like on tap, and even has a crazy trivia night every Wednesday. It gets packed - be there early!

→ Topside Roof Deck

Located at Lido House, this rooftop bar is the only one in all of Newport Beach. Book a reservation and get classy! Sip some champagne while overlooking the peninsula, nothing is more relaxing.

→ STAG Bar and Grill

If you’re looking for a bar that serves food while giving you DJs and a classic night of dancing, look no further. STAG is a party every night of the weekend, and is located right next to the pier!

→ Blue Beet

This little spot, tucked in the alley next to STAG Bar, brings you the best cover bands and live music you can find on the peninsula. Their Instagram showcases the lineup of cover bands performing every night downstairs, and there’s even a rooftop! If you’re lucky, you may even catch Newport’s most popular cover band, Flash Pants, in action. Be warned, they love crowd work and you will be called up on stage.

→ Malarky’s

You’ll see a lot of locals at Malarky’s every weekend! As Newport Beach’s resident Irish pub, the long lines tell you everything you need to know. It’s a must-stop on a night out if you’re looking to dance and hang out with the funniest security team you’ll meet on the peninsula. Plus, if you’re in town for Saint Patrick’s Day, this is the place to be!

→ Country Club

Country Club delivers craft cocktails and a more upscale bar experience. Aside from the great food and drinks during the day, it turns into an entire vibe at night!

Spring break doesn’t have to be spent just laying on the beach; Newport brings so much more than that! Enjoy yourself, drink responsibly, and experience everything this coastal town has to offer for your vacation this year!
